The length of the minute hand of a clock is 6cm. Find the area swept by it when it moves
from 7:05 p.m. to 7:40 p.m.

given r=6cm

in one hour (60 minutes) the minute hand moves through 360 degree; and hence moves through 360/60=6 degrees in 1 minute

from 7:05 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. , in 35 minutes, the minute hand moves through 35*6=210 degrees

theta =210 degrrees

area of sector = (theta/360 )*pi*(r^2)

=(210/360)*(22/7)*6*6=66 square centimetre
